The first Elite entered production in 1957 and it was powered by a small 1.2L, four-cylinder in line carburetor engine available with two outputs: 72 HP and 77 lb. ft. of torque and 84 HP and 75 lb. ft. of torque. The two-door coupe sports car had rear-wheel drive and a four-speed manual gearbox. It’s worth noting that the Elite had a very low 0.29 drag coefficient. The model exited production in 1963, a total of around 1030 being manufactured over the 6-year existence.
