The BMW E34 M5 stands as one of the most revered sports sedans ever created, embodying the perfect blend of craftsmanship, performance, and engineering purity. Produced between 1988 and 1995, it was the last M5 to be hand-built by BMW Motorsport in Garching, making it a true bridge between the analog performance era and the modern age of high-technology performance sedans.

Based on the third-generation BMW 5 Series (E34), the M5 was developed as the flagship of BMW's performance lineup, a refined grand tourer with the soul of a race car. Under its understated and muscular exterior lay one of BMW's greatest engines: the S38 straight-six, a direct descendant of the legendary M1 supercar's powerplant. In its early 3.6-liter form, it produced 315 bhp, while later versions, such as the 3.8-liter S38B38, developed up to 340 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. Power was sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox, giving the car an engaging & mechanical driving character unmatched by its rivals.

Every E34 M5 was hand-assembled by BMW M technicians, each taking nearly two weeks to complete. Attention to detail was exceptional-everything from the engine blueprinting to interior finishing reflected the Motorsport division's dedication...
