Hyundai Accent 1.6
2001
Sedan

The Hyundai Accent, or Hyundai Verna, is a subcompact car produced by Hyundai. In Australia, the first-generation models retained the Hyundai Excel name used by the Accent’s predecessor. The Accent was replaced in 2000 by the Hyundai Verna in South Korea, although most international markets, including the U.S., retained the “Accent” name. The “Accent” name is an abbreviation of “Advanced Compact Car of Epoch-making New Technology.”.
It was launched in India in October 1999 as the “Accent” and remained in production after a few minor facelifts; the car was phased out in 2013 for the local market. It has been restyled twice—in 2004 and 2010—and is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
