The Lexus IS F is a high-performance production sports sedan that was developed with track driving in mind. Toyota entered this car in the Nürburgring VLN series starting one year after its debut, testing the IS F’s capabilities on the track while continuing to refine the car. The vehicle displayed at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon was the IS F CCS-R, developed as a full-spec circuit racing car.

CCS stands for the concept behind the car: Circuit—a safe place to drive; Club—having fun with others; and Sport—having fun driving; and the R, of course, stands for racing.

The chassis is built from a bare body, and the interior, which features a full roll cage, has two bucket seats. The front hood and fenders are made of carbon fiber, making the car roughly 300 kg lighter than the IS F. The suspension uses special racing components for all parts, including the control arms and brakes, along with a mechanical limited-slip differential.

Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated 5-liter V8, which produces 417 BHP/51.5 kgfm, and the 8-speed automatic transmission remain unmodified.
