The bodywork of this car is based on that of the Subaru WRX STI S207 NBR Challenge Package, a limited edition model of the WRX STI.

The Subaru WRX, announced in the autumn of 2013, is a mid-class saloon that became independent from the Impreza series. The WRX was a grade model that was traditionally given to high performance versions of the Impreza, but the name has now become a new car model. The new model is, of course, a high performance sports sedan that follows in the footsteps of the Impreza WRX.

Its platform is basically the same as the Subaru Levorg, but due to the differences between an estate and a saloon and the expected types of driving conditions, the WRX body is significantly reinforced. The line-up includes a sporty STI model and a grand touring type S4. Both models are 4WD and the power unit is the iconic flat 4 turbo. However, between the STI and the S4, the centre differential and even the power steering mechanism is different.
