The Jetta arrived on the domestic market in March 2011.

It was the first mid-size sedan from a traditional brand to feature a turbo engine with direct injection in Brazil, the strongest engine in the Volkswagen Jetta range, the 2.0 TSI (the brand's acronym for combustion engines with direct injection and air supercharging). This engine is powered by gasoline and has a turbocharger, direct fuel injection system, four valves per cylinder, variable camshaft timing, among other features.

This engine is capable of developing 200 horsepower at 5,100 rpm and 28.5 kgfm of torque, available from 1,700 rpm.
