As of 2023, racing team and race car constructor \u00e4pr has introduced their latest entry to the Super GT season, the Lexus LC500h GT300. Only sharing a handful of parts with the production version (Like the grill which I don't want to talk about modeling-wise), the car has been vastly different from the rest of GT300 contenders. It does not share anything with the LC500 GT500 that was racing in GT500 class from 2017 to 2019.<\/p>\n
The engine is the very same one as its predecessor, the Prius PHV GT300 had, namely the 2UR-GSE V8. This, with the addition of a tweaked hybrid system, makes the car one of the top contenders in the GT300 class. The gearbox is a 6-speed sequential Hewland, equipped with an Ogura Racing clutch.<\/p>\n
The car could very well be one of the heaviest GT3 based cars at a whopping 1300kg, due to its hybrid system and remarkable dimesnsions, making the car stand above all its rivals with stability.<\/p>\n
Being much more successful than its predecessor, the LC500h GT300 finished the 2023 season at 8th place, earning several podiums during the season, despite its setup still being fine-tuned in-between races.<\/p>\n
Team \u00e4pr is racing the LC500h GT300 next to their GR86 GT300, both sharing their unique mother chassis that no other car has outside of the aforementioned cars and the GR Supra GT300.<\/p>\n
