The Mustang, one of the most prominent sports coupes from the U.S., had gradually shifted away from the long-running first-generation model toward a more luxury-oriented character over the years. However, the new model introduced in 2005 was a revival of the highly popular first-generation design, based on Ford\u2019s \u201cLiving Legend\u201d strategy. Features that were prominent in the first-generation model\u2014such as the reverse-slanted front end, the sleek fastback style, and the black leather interior\u2014have returned unchanged but are now backed by modern technology.<\/p>\n
In contrast to its classic exterior, the internal mechanism features the latest specifications available. A newly developed platform was adopted, and the suspension was also redesigned to match. The all-aluminum engine is available as a 4L V6 or a 4.6L V8, both paired with either a 5-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission.<\/p>\n
The GT is the top-of-the-line model with the V8 engine, and its main appeal is, of course, its high performance, with an output of 300 HP. The rhythmic character of an American V8 and its exhaust note get the driver\u2019s blood pumping, and the car has been thoroughly tuned throughout. Of course, fuel economy has not been overlooked, thanks to the use of a variable valve timing system.<\/p>\n
The handling provided by the new chassis is just as enjoyable as that of an American V8 muscle car. The body is very rigid, making you forget just how large the car is while you\u2019re driving. The steering feel is direct and responsive.
