Introduced in 2000, the 3rd generation M3 is the top performance model of the E46 chassis 3 series, which had undergone a full model change in 1998.<\/p>\n

The 3.2L inline-6 produces over 98.6 BHP per liter for a maximum power output of 338.2 BHP\/7,900 rpm and maximum torque output of 37.2 kgfm\/4,900 rpm, making this engine an iconic symbol of the high-revving engine technology BMW had become famous for.
