The Lamborghini SC63 is a sports prototype racing car designed by Lamborghini and built by Ligier. It is intended to compete in the Hypercar and Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) classes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA SportsCar Championship.<\/p>\n
Lamborghini officially announced the SC63 in May 2022, with plans to compete in both the World Endurance Championship and the IMSA SportsCar Championship starting in the 2024 season. The car is based on an LMDh-compliant racing design, and Lamborghini selected Ligier as its chassis supplier for this project.<\/p>\n
The SC63 uses a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 90\u00b0 V8 twin-turbo internal combustion engine and standard hybrid drivetrain components. The combined output of this setup is 671 horsepower (500 kW). The car also features a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and a pushrod suspension system with KW dampers and torsion springs.<\/p>\n
The SC63 marks a significant milestone for Lamborghini Squadra Corse, as it is the team\u2019s first hybrid racing car prototype.
