In some cases, Vantage also refers to an entire model series.<br \/>\nThe performance-enhanced versions of an Aston Martin model series usually carry this suffix. The term was first used for a special version of the Aston Martin DB2 and was also used for all subsequent models until the late 1960s. The Aston Martin DB6 Vantage, for example, had a factory-tuned engine that delivered 239 kW (325 hp) instead of the 207 kW (282 hp) of the base model. Later models such as the Aston Martin V8 were also offered as a Vantage. Timothy Dalton drove this car in the James Bond film The Touch of Death.
