Nissan Skyline GT-R R-Tune (R34) NISMO

What’s better than a stock Nissan Skyline GT-R? Why, a Skyline GT-R chock full of high-performance bits fitted by the Japanese company’s in-house tuner, Nismo, of course. Thus, the Nismo Skyline GT-R R-Tune was born. The engine, designated the R1, not only gained a new turbocharger and racing camshaft, but also received the hot-rod treatment, including a full balancing and polished ports, which allowed it to rev above 5,000 rpm and produce a full 443 HP. Other underhood enhancements included an upgraded intercooler, radiator and oil cooler. Even the transmission got a hi-pro boost via a new twin-plate clutch.

The suspension also benefitted greatly by extensive parts and labor. High-performance shocks and stiffer bushings provided better driver feedback, while more camber was dialed into the front tires for improved cornering grip over the already impressive standard GT-R. Braking performance was also improved and brake fade is greatly reduced with the addition of race car-quality pads and hoses. Rounding out this impressive racetrack-ready package was new aerodynamic bodywork that increased downforce while reducing drag, including a downforce-producing panel underneath the front of the car.
