The Porsche 911 (993) Carrera is the fourth generation model of the Porsche 911 series, replacing the previous generation 964 in 1993.<\/p>\n
The 911 (993) evolved with improved construction of the body to an all-alloy subframe, and was the first generation of the 911 model series to have a 6-speed manual transmission. In addition, it was the last generation of the 911 series to feature air-cooled engines.<\/p>\n
Additionally it featured Porsche’s Weissach axle at the rear end, a passive steering system meant to bring the 911’s notorious liftoff oversteer behavior under control.<\/p>\n
The AWD version of the car brings even more stability on the road with the ability to shift torque to the front wheels when the rears begin to slip.<\/p>\n
