For this tuned version the LT5 is bored and stroked to 385 cubic inches – combined with headers, sport mufflers, intake work and a dyno tune this nets 544bhp. Lightweight magnesium alloy wheels with modern semislick tires are fitted, alongside light suspension changes and a set of 3.90 rear gears.
Nearly 100kg has also been shed from the car via simple modifications including a carbon fiber hood, aluminum single-mass flywheel, lightweight racing battery, as well as removal of the air conditioning system and (for trackdays, anyway) the spare tire, jack, and tools.
All in all this makes a seriously quick car devastatingly fast, able to keep pace with much more exotic hardware in the canyons.
