The key to success of the Celica was that it was always updated to meet the tastes of the times. When it was time for the sixth-generation version, Toyota totally reinvented the sports coupe, unveiling a wild-looking machine in October 1993.<\/p>\n

The body size of the Celica remained roughly the same, measuring 174.6 inches from bumper to bumper and 51.3 inches from ground to roofline. However it was the car’s 68.8 inches width that raised eyebrows, as well as the car’s radical face. Gone were the retractable headlights that defined the face of the previous Celica, replaced by four large round ones. The rest of the body followed the theme set by the face.<\/p>\n

In February 1994, the potent GT-Four was implemented. The GT-Four had a reshaped aluminum hood and flashy rear spoiler, with the daunting 3S-GTE supplying power to all four wheels. This engine was a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that spit out 251 BHP. A convertible version of the Celica also appeared this year.<\/p>\n
