No in\u00edcio da d\u00e9cada de 1970, o automobilismo nacional foi dividido em categorias, surgindo a Divis\u00e3o 3, que permitia alto n\u00edvel de modifica\u00e7\u00f5es na carroceria, no conjunto mec\u00e2nico altamente preparado e pneus oriundos da F\u00f3rmula 1 ou F\u00f3rmula 2. Atingiam em torno de 450 cv\u00b4s e alcan\u00e7avam velocidades pr\u00f3ximas a 260 km\/h. Os grids eram lotados, subdividos em 3 classes, sendo elas: Grupo A, Grupo B e Grupo C. Todos os carros de produ\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira podiam participar das corridas, divertimento garantido para o grande p\u00fablico que lotava os aut\u00f3dromos.<\/p>\n
