Launched in 1984, the “Campeonato Brasileiro de Marcas e Pilotos”, later known as the “Copa Shell de Marcas e Pilotos”, aimed to bring together popular cars of the time with minimal design modifications, while still maintaining track competitiveness. Throughout its existence, until 1994, the championship underwent several rule changes, allowing for the participation of various models of domestic cars, which were able to show their performance in races.
