Release Notes:
The objective of this mod was to create a fun but realisticly modified NA Miata with a Honda K series engine. The default tune is meant to deliver a fun and livley vintage/modern racecar for the street feel, with small twisty tracks and touge in mind. The car is fully adjustable, as it would be in real life, and the default suspension settings have been chosen based on correctly calculated values derived from common spring rates used on quality aftermarket coilovers using the Miatas suspension geometry. The engine’s power / torque curve was based off of several dyno sheets from other similar K serries builds, the 6 speed gear ratios are correct to an NB 6 speed, and the final drive options are all real optional ratios that were available in the factory Tornsen diffs. I created the Modern Track tire model from scratch, drawing from real world experience with a Miata on ultra high performance tires such as Nankang AR1s.
Disclaimer:
I do not claim sole creator credit for this mod. While the engine dynamics, tuning, and overall performance of the car were done by myself, I used INFTY /KOALA’s K-Spec MX5 as a base. This provieded a clean model with the wheels, hardtop, and interior already sorted. Some issues with Koala’s K-Spec mod were fixed, such as incorrect tire radius and body offset that were causing issues with ride height and floating wheels. I also sourced a relativly accurate Honda engine sound from Tiago Silva’s EK9 Turbo Civic (without the turbo sounds in this version). The engine swap, suspension, brakes, transmission, and tires were all altered from the base mod by myself.
