The Tommi Makinen Edition of the Evolution VI, commonly referred to by the community as the Evo 6.5, was a special version named after a Finnish rally driver who had won 4 WRC events for Mitsubishi.

The car came equipped with a new front bumper, new 17 inch Enkei wheels, a red stitched and badged interior, a titanium turbo for lower spool up lag, an upper front strut brace, a lower ride height of 10mm, and a quicker steering ratio. The TME version also came in red and had optional decals that mimicked Tommis rally car.
