Chevrolet Montana - Copa Montana

The Chevrolet Copa Montana was a Brazilian racing series that served as a feeder category for Stock Car Brasil between 2010 and 2012. It emerged from the merger of Stock Car Light (Copa Vicar) and Pick-Up Racing, featuring pickup-style race cars based on the Chevrolet Montana. The vehicles were built on tubular chassis by JL Racing, powered by 5.7-liter V8 Chevrolet engines producing around 350 horsepower, and equipped with sequential gearboxes and slick Goodyear tires. In 2011, the series introduced FuelTech electronic injection and a “Push-to-Pass” system, allowing drivers a temporary boost in power for overtaking. Although short-lived, the Copa Montana helped develop young talent, with notable champions like Rafael Daniel, who claimed back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012.
